Run by teachers, not a franchise
MealForge Academy is an independent language centre in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur — founded in 2015 by two teachers who believed classes of thirty were the reason so many Malaysians could read English but not speak it.
Where the name comes from
A forge is where raw material becomes something useful — through heat, repetition and a craftsman's attention. That is precisely how speaking skills are built: not absorbed from a textbook, but hammered into shape through practice, correction and more practice. We put the forge in the name as a daily reminder of what a lesson is for.
Eleven years on, more than 4,200 students have passed through our classrooms on Level 21 — engineers preparing for postings abroad, retirees finally fixing "the English problem", teenagers chasing MUET bands, and children discovering that storytime beats screen time.
What we insist on
- Small groups, always. Ten students maximum, eight in business classes. It costs us more per seat; it is also the entire point.
- Qualified teachers only. CELTA, TESOL or equivalent, minimum five years' experience, observed and mentored every term.
- Honest placement. If a cheaper track — or self-study — will serve you better, we say so at the placement test. Students remember honesty longer than brochures.
- A written progress promise. 80% attendance and the work done: move up within two terms or the next one is free.
- No lock-in contracts. You enrol term by term. Our retention rate is our quality report.
