This notice explains how Forge Lingua Education Sdn. Bhd. ("MealForge Academy", "we") handles personal data collected through mealforge.my and at our centre, in line with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) of Malaysia.
1. What we collect
When you enquire, book a placement test or enrol, we may collect your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, the programme you are interested in, and — for enrolled students — assessment results, attendance records and billing details. For students under 18 we collect a parent or guardian's contact details rather than the child's.
2. Why we collect it
- To respond to enquiries and schedule placement tests;
- To run classes: level placement, progress tracking, certificates and catch-up scheduling;
- To invoice and maintain statutory accounting records;
- To send administrative messages about your course (schedule changes, term dates);
- With your separate consent only — to send occasional news about new programmes.
3. What we do not do
We do not sell, rent or trade personal data. We do not send marketing on behalf of third parties. Assessment results are never shared with employers or schools unless you ask us in writing to do so.
4. Sharing
Data is shared only with service providers who help us operate — our hosting provider, our accounting firm, and our payment processor — each bound by confidentiality, and with authorities where the law requires it.
5. Retention
Enquiry data is deleted after 12 months of inactivity. Student academic records are kept for 7 years so we can re-issue certificates, then destroyed. Billing records follow statutory retention periods.
6. Security
Data is stored on access-controlled systems within password-protected accounts limited to staff who need it. Paper assessment forms are kept in locked storage at our Brickfields centre and shredded after digitisation.
7. Your rights
Under the PDPA you may request access to your personal data, ask us to correct it, or withdraw consent to processing (which may mean we can no longer provide the course). 8. Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will note it on this page and — for enrolled students — mention it in the term newsletter. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
