Everyday Conversation

For people who understand English perfectly well — until it is their turn to speak.

Talking is the syllabus

Most language classes teach grammar and hope conversation follows. We run it the other way round. Every lesson opens with a real situation — returning a faulty phone, disagreeing with a friend's plan, telling a story about your week — and you spend the majority of the ninety minutes actually speaking. Grammar and vocabulary are taught at the moment you need them, which is exactly when they stick.

Your teacher listens, notes your recurring errors, and corrects them in short focused bursts rather than interrupting your flow. By week three most students report the same thing: the panic before speaking simply gets quieter.

What you will practise

  • Holding your own in fast group conversations without rehearsing sentences in your head first
  • Everyday transactions — clinics, banks, landlords, deliveries — handled smoothly and politely
  • Telling stories and giving opinions with natural linking words instead of memorised phrases
  • Disagreeing, complaining and negotiating without sounding rude or apologetic
  • Understanding fast, casual speech, including the way Malaysians, Brits and Americans actually talk

Levels and structure

The course runs in four bands from Foundation (A1–A2) to Advanced Fluency (C1). Your free placement test decides your starting band, and levels are re-checked at the end of every 10-week term. Classes meet twice a week for 90 minutes, with evening and Saturday options.

Finish a term with 80% attendance and you receive a certificate stating your CEFR level — plus our written progress promise: move up within two terms or your next term is free.
